BASFIX PORȚELANAT

AREA OF USE:

The "BASFIX Porcelanato" mixture is used for facing with ceramic tiles, decorative stone, medium (60x60) and large (120x250) porcelain tiles of various types and thicknesses (0.5cm-5cm), marble, polystyrene boards on mineral surfaces (concrete, plaster, etc.), and can also be used for reinforcing fixed thermal insulation systems. BASFIX is a grey powder consisting of high-quality cement with fractional and polymeric additives. The adhesive is recommended for exterior and interior work, in areas with high humidity, with working temperatures between +5℃ and +25℃, protected from direct sunlight.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

The surface must be straight, well cleaned of dust, dirt, paint, and grease stains. Apply a layer of PRIMER (recommended GRUND SUPERIOR UNIVERSAL) on hard surfaces (concrete, cement-based plaster), or Concrete Contact (recommended BETONCONTACT EXTRA) on surfaces made of GYPSUM boards, AAC blocks, etc. Water-absorbing tiles (clay-based or with clay additives) must be soaked in a container with water for about 5 minutes, then removed before use. Medium/large marble or porcelain tiles should be well wiped with a damp sponge to remove the factory-applied grease layer. The adhesive is applied to both surfaces (tile/board on which it is applied).

ADHESIVE PREPARATION:

Mix the entire quantity of mixture uniformly in a container with water using a low-speed mixer, then leave it for 10 minutes to obtain a homogeneous mass, then mix again before use.

• For walls: prepare mixture in proportion of 0.2 liters of water per 1kg of dry mixture.
• For floor: 0.25 liters of water per 1kg of dry mixture.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Work should be performed at temperatures above +5℃. Apply the adhesive uniformly on the prepared surface with the flat side of the notched metal trowel, then process with the notched side at a 90-degree angle. Tiles should not be wetted before applying adhesive on them (see SURFACE PREPARATION section for details). The tile (of all types) is placed on the prepared mixture layer on the board, then pressed slowly with circular movements. If the board on which the tile was applied was treated with primer or concrete contact, its position on the wall can be adjusted for 30-45 minutes. The prepared adhesive can be used for approximately 120-240 minutes. Use only clean containers and tools. The mixture consumption on the prepared surface depends on the thickness of the applied layer. Consumption varies between (3-6m²) per 25 kg bag.

STORAGE:

Store in rooms with air humidity up to 60%, on pallets, in undamaged bags. Shelf life - 12 months from the production date (indicated on the bag).

WARRANTY CONDITIONS:

The company is not responsible for exceptional cases when the craftsman does not follow all the steps indicated above. To benefit from the warranty, you need a bag of adhesive with its production date indicated on it and proof of purchase from the store.
